NSS volunteers sensitized about cleaning of Buddha Dariya at Kamla Lohtia S.D. College

Working upon the motto of service to society, NSS volunteers of Kamla Lohtia S.D. College, Ludhiana were sensitized about the cleaning of Buddha Dariya. As a part of ongoing clean Buddha Dariya project initiated by Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, Dr. Puran Singh, Director and Dr. Naresh Bhardwaj, Assistant Director, Clean Buddha Dariya Project, interacted with the students and guided them about various ways to keep their surroundings clean and also motivated them to convince and persuaded people nearby about the appropriate disposal of garbage. 12 teams of 3 students (each) were formed and were given orientation regarding the ways to perform the task of monitoring the banks of Buddha Dariya. They also took along the students for a field visit so as to apprise them about the selected area alongside Buddha Dariya stretch for keeping a vigil and a check over the disposal of domestic and other waste into it.  As a mark of recognition and motivation, the NSS volunteers were awarded caps and certificates of participation along with sanitisation kits comprising mask and sanitizer. Appreciating the zeal and sense of commitment among students, Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar Marwaha affirmed the consistent participation of the college in such kind of socially virtuous campaigns. He also lauded the remarkable efforts of NSS programme coordinators Dr. Mohd. Saleem and Dr. Ritu Gupta for motivating and guiding the students for this purposeful campaign. The College Managing Committee headed by President Sh. Dharam Paul Jain along with Sh. Sunil Aggarwal, Sh. Sandeep Aggarwal, Sh. Sandeep Jain, Sh. B.M. Ralhan, Sh. Shaman Jindal and Sh. R.D. Singhal also endorsed this noble initiative.
