A webinar on ‘Basics of Mutual Fund (Equity and Debt Schemes)’ was organised by Kamla Lohtia S.D. College, Ludhiana by the P.G. Dept. of Commerce and Management in association with Mr. Lakhbir Singh, PRA Capital Services Pvt. Ltd.  Mr Vebhore Seth, Cluster Head, Aditya Birla Sunlife AMC, was the key speaker for the occasion. Mr. Seth dwelled upon mutual funds and its two Schemes – debt fund and equity fund.  He expressed mutual funds as good investment vehicle whereby debt fund schemes become good investment option for earning short term returns with low risk as debt is tax deductible while equities are long term investment option and fetch higher returns and also compensate for ever increasing inflation and are suitable for investors with higher risk appetite. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar Marwaha acknowledged the significance of this webinar as a good guide for prudent investment in the present era of financial volatility particularly for small and medium investors. Various relevant queries were raised by the participating students which were satisfactorily answered by the speaker. Dr. Renu Sharma introduced the topic of Webinar while Dr. Sarita Aggarwal, Head, P.G. Dept. of Commerce & Management presented the vote of thanks.
