Webinar on ‘Born to Move’ organised by Kamla Lohtia S.D. College

A webinar on ‘Born to Move’ was organised by Kamla Lohtia S.D. College, Ludhiana by the Dept of Physical Education. Prof. (Dr.) Gurmeet Singh, Chairman, Dept of Physical Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the resource person for the occasion. The webinar focussed around the significance of physical exercise and activity in the formation ofa strong and sound personality. Dr. Gurmeet explained four areas of development of a childnamely cognitive, emotional, social and physical and elaborated the concept of physical literacy meaning thereby the development of fundamental movement skills and promoting physical activity among children and the youth. He further stated that children are not born physically literate rather they have to be trained and nurtured for physical activity that leadsthem towards all round development and fulfilment in life. Principal Dr. Rajesh KumarMarwaha acknowledged the relevance of this talk and exhorted the young students to takerecourse to physical workouts and exercise in their daily routine and shed the sedentary lifestyles. Towards the end, Dr. Rohit Kumar, Head, Dept of Physical Education presentedthe vote of thanks. Queries were also raised by the participating students which were satisfactorily answered by Dr. Gurmeet Singh. The College Managing Committee headed byPresident Sh. Dharam Paul Jain along with Sh. Sunil Aggarwal, Sh. Sandeep Aggarwal, Sh.Sandeep Jain, Sh. B.M. Ralhan, Sh. Shaman Jindal and Sh. R.D. Singhal had a word ofappreciation for this purposeful session.
